Our take on Nuclear Epoch
Rather than treating survival as a solitary cycle of scavenging and shelter upgrades, the game folds in a player-run marketplace, public bases, NPC settlement growth, and inherited mutant-pet traits. Its raids also replace fixed layouts with repeated runs through changing enemy and loot arrangements.
What is Nuclear Epoch?
Nuclear Epoch is an open-world survival game set in a wasteland altered by nuclear disaster.
Players gather resources, build shelters, craft weapons with customizable attributes, and explore with others. Raids take place across five hazardous instances whose maps, enemy placement, and treasure locations change between entries. Each instance ends with a mutant boss requiring coordinated tactics. Death causes the loss of everything carried. Shelters can develop from basic refuges into fortress cities, host NPC residents, and function as social spaces where players can display buildings, trade goods, and run guild transactions. Weapons gain improvements through use, while mutant pets can be bred for inherited traits and abilities. Rare items can enter the Steam market through the game’s store system.
How Nuclear Epoch plays
- 01Changing raid areas
- Five hazardous instances vary their layouts, enemy positions, and chest locations for each entry.
- 02Shelter development

- 03Custom weapon crafting
- Weapons are made from scrap and can receive individualized attributes through the manufacturing process.
- 04Weapon progression

- 05Mutant pet breeding
- Two or more pets can produce offspring with inherited traits, including possible abilities from mixed attributes.
- 06Player trading
- Shelters support visits, goods displays, guild transactions, and sales of rare items through the Steam market.
