Play it if you…
Good fit- Players who enjoy grinding character statistics before tackling stronger monsters
- RPG fans who want active progression combined with background idle play
- Players interested in crafting, alchemy, equipment upgrades, and talent systems
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a story-led RPG may bounce off the repeated progression loop after the first boss
- Players who want meaningful progress while the game is closed will hit the lack of offline progression
- Players looking for a large party, branching narrative, or exploration-focused RPG may find the scope narrow
Our take on Norega
The bounce point arrives when active play reaches the first boss and the progression loop becomes repetitive. Players who then rely on idle mode must also accept that progress only runs in the background, not while the game is offline.
What is Norega?
Norega combines role-playing progression with idle play.
Players control Kurt, a knight in training, and increase his strength and other stats to face increasingly tough monsters. Progression begins by selecting gates that lead to five locations, with later areas opening after earlier stages are defeated. Active play produces rewards faster than idle play, while the game continues running in the background. Progress does not continue while the game is offline. Systems include combat, alchemy, jewelry, equipment sharpening, talent mastery, banking, and weapon crafting through the smith. The game can be played actively through its stages or left running in idle mode after active progression becomes repetitive.
