Our take on NoEL - Nothing on Elysion Line
The focus on repeated combat, deck adjustment, and character development leaves less room for a purely linear story experience. Progression also depends on managing several combat elements, including number matching, equipment, consumables, and changing skill choices.
What is NoEL - Nothing on Elysion Line?
NoEL - Nothing on Elysion Line is a single-player roguelite built around battles and deck changes.
Players acquire equipment, face bosses, and progress toward the final chapter of a character’s story. Outside combat, available actions include sanctuaries, rest stops, events, and shops. Matching numbers shown at the top of the screen gives cards stronger effects, while some encounters reward different approaches to deck use. Characters develop through aging and events, unlocking skills over time.
Each character begins with three usable skills and can later choose from a total of seven. The cast shares a setting, with people from one story appearing in others and events presented from different perspectives. Enemies use distinct patterns, and skills, consumable items, and equipment affect battles.
