Our take on Nobody Wants to Die
Karra’s time-manipulation augmentation lets him reconstruct events leading up to each murder, making crime-scene investigation the defining mechanic.
What is Nobody Wants to Die?
In a dystopian Manhattan of 2329, Mortality Department investigator James Karra pursues a serial murderer whose victims belong to the city’s upper class.
After surviving a brush with death, he accepts an unofficial assignment and works with police contact Sara Kai. Their inquiry takes place in a society where human consciousness may reside in memory banks or move between bodies, provided the required subscription is affordable. At murder sites, Karra combines a temporal modification with investigative equipment to replay moments before each killing and find evidence. The case exposes concealed truths among the elite while examining transhumanism, everlasting life, and the erosion of moral boundaries. This alternate future presents immortality as a purchasable privilege with a human cost.
