Our take on NIGHTSTAR
The room-scale control scheme makes physical movement central to play, but that focus narrows the audience to players equipped for motion-controller VR instead of standard screen-based shooters.
What is NIGHTSTAR?
NIGHTSTAR is a room-scale, third-person VR shooter played by moving a motion controller through physical space.
Players steer the Nightstar, attack enemies, and dodge obstacles and incoming fire across eight levels. Collecting upgrades improves the starfighter’s weapons and defenses while enemy waves persist. Foes range from enemy fighters and weaponized asteroids to bounty hunters, missile-carrying craft, and enormous battleships. A soundtrack shifts in response to gameplay, and an online leaderboard lets pilots compare scores. The story is set on Earth in 1983, with the player chosen to fly the Nightstar against the Drone Coalition.
