Our take on Never Ending Night
Players looking for purely exploratory platforming may hit a wall when the game shifts into recurring quests, enemy fights, and NPC turn-ins. Those expecting one fixed narrative may also resist the decision-based structure and multiple endings introduced by Knight’s Saga.
What is Never Ending Night?
Never Ending Night is a two-dimensional adventure about exploring a ruined land populated by surviving machines.
Cain examines locations, uses environmental objects, and reconstructs forgotten history with assistance from MLBY, a mechanical butterfly companion. Light-bearing lanterns indicate advancement through the unsettling darkness. The Knight’s Saga addition provides more than ten hours of story content, an open environment, alternative routes, several conclusions, encounters with non-player characters, missions, and choices that shape events. In this chapter, players take the role of a knight, engage foes in rapid hack-and-slash battles, and gather weapons and armor that alter the character’s capabilities. Its recurring structure sends players to accept missions, defeat opponents, then bring the finished objective back to a non-player character.
