Play it if you…
Good fit- Groups of friends who want local cooperative survival action
- Players who enjoy repeated runs with changing toy and power choices
- Shoot-'em-up fans who want a playful enemy theme and boss encounters
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players who want a slow-paced experience may hit a wall as enemy waves intensify over successive nights.
- Those who prefer recovering health independently may find the Friend Zone requirement restrictive, since healing depends on staying near teammates.
- Players looking for online multiplayer may not find it suited to their setup; the described cooperative mode is local.
Our take on Neighborhorde
The likely sticking point is the healing system: after a chaotic fight, players must regroup in the Friend Zone to recover health. Teams that spread out or prefer independent play may find that requirement hard to work around, especially as the enemy mix grows more demanding.
What is Neighborhorde?
Neighborhorde is a survival shoot-'em-up for 1–4 players, built around local cooperative play.
Players control animal kids and use toys as weapons against waves of enemies, including robots, wizards, and zombie Abe Lincolns. Each night adds toys and superpowers to the team's choices; presents around the map contain the selected weapons. Enemies grow stronger as the team does, and surviving three nights in a row leads to a boss fight. Players regain health by staying close together in the Friend Zone. The game also supports solo play, with TV-headed bots available to help while friends are away. The vendor lists 40 toys and 40 superpowers currently available.
How Neighborhorde plays
- 01Local co-op
- Up to four players can work together, and TV-headed bots can fill in while friends are away.
- 02Nightly progression
- New toys and superpowers become available as nights advance, while enemy strength also increases.
- 03Team-based healing
- Players recover health by keeping close to one another in the Friend Zone.
- 04Boss encounters
- A boss fight follows survival through three consecutive nights.
- 05Random enemy mixes
- Enemy combinations are selected randomly and become more varied as the game progresses.
