Our take on Mothman
Rather than treating horror as a sequence of direct fights, the game has players stalk its central monster while choosing whether to engage or withdraw. Traps, bait, distance, and silence take the place of a straightforward run-and-gun structure.
What is Mothman?
Mothman is a cooperative psychological horror game for 1–4 players.
A team enters the woods of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, to find and kill the Mothman demon. Players begin with limited equipment, search the landscape for resources, and choose when to engage or avoid conflict. The hunt uses firearms, bear traps, bait, distance, and quiet movement rather than a direct attack. Staying stealthy and agile is part of the hunt, since the creature can pursue the players. The game supports teams of up to four and offers graphics settings intended for both low-end and high-end systems, including options for higher or lower visual quality.
How Mothman plays
- 01Four-Player Co-op
- Teams can include the player and up to three other hunters.
- 02Trap-Based Hunting
- Bear traps, bait, firearms, and ranged positioning can be combined into a plan for killing the demon.
- 03Stealth-Focused Encounters
- Players must decide when to act and when to avoid a confrontation while remaining quiet.
- 04Scalable Graphics
- The game provides settings for lower-end systems as well as higher visual fidelity on high-end systems.
