Our take on Monster X Monster
The extensive fusion system trades simplicity for variety: assembling a monster from body parts, slots, and cards creates many combinations, but the build structure may demand more experimentation than a straightforward RPG.
What is Monster X Monster?
Monster X Monster is a roguelike RPG card game about four monsters escaping a castle by defeating its heroes.
Each run uses randomly generated dungeons, items, enemies, events, and loot. Monster customization combines more than 15 monsters, over 10 body slots, over 100 body parts, and over 100 cards, with the vendor describing more than 1 million possible monster combinations. The game also includes more than 50 items and 20 events. Its core fusion system supports creating distinct monster builds, while the card-based battles structure encounters during the escape. The game draws inspiration from Darkest Dungeon and Slay the Spire.
