Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking combat-focused pacing may find the farming, animal care, crafting, and trading systems pull attention away from fights.
- Players who want a tightly directed story may find the open-world structure and player-selected homestead or adventuring path less guided.
- Players looking for a puzzle-focused game may not find that kind of central gameplay here.
Our take on Mirthwood
Players who want a clear combat-only progression may hit a wall when homestead upkeep enters the routine: crops, animals, facility upgrades, and town-to-town trade sit alongside fighting and quests. The same split may frustrate anyone expecting a tightly directed adventure, since the game lets players choose between a peaceful homestead and an adventurer's path.
What is Mirthwood?
Mirthwood is a medieval fantasy RPG and life sim about starting over in a new land after fleeing a war-torn continent.
Players can build a homestead, grow and harvest crops, raise animals, improve facilities, craft items and gear, and trade goods between towns. The open world has six regions and three towns, with survival-lite pressures from storms, winter, and disease. Combat uses swords or bows against enemies such as bandits and werewolves; characters can develop and specialize in a combat class. Quests, mysteries, and events arise as players explore. Townsfolk have daily routines, and a relationship system allows players to befriend or insult NPCs, develop relationships, and gain social interactions, quests, and tasks.
