Our take on Minimal Move
Rather than treating adventure as a mostly linear journey, Minimal Move makes spatial manipulation the main way its story world is traversed. Its two-character setup also replaces a conventional solo puzzle structure with complementary abilities, whether played cooperatively or alone.
What is Minimal Move?
Minimal Move is a story-driven cooperative puzzle game set in a science-fiction world made of cubic environments.
Players guide Ido and Kaiten as they investigate the planet and attempt to reach portals by rearranging blocks. Kaiten rotates blocks, while Ido shifts them sideways and vertically, creating puzzles viewed from changing 3D perspectives. The game supports solo play and cooperative play, with the two characters able to interact by smashing into each other. Different worlds introduce new block types and puzzle variations. The journey also includes encounters with humorous and dangerous monsters and robots. Its central structure combines environmental problem-solving with an adventure narrative about discovering the truth behind the planet.
