AdventureIs Blanc worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Pairs who want a cooperative adventure with local or online play
- Players who prefer environmental navigation over complex controls
- Fans of text-free stories set in snowy wildernesses
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking combat systems, extensive character progression, or a large open world may hit the game's narrow cooperative adventure structure.
- Solo players will hit a wall at the two-character coordination system, which centers on two people controlling the animals together.
- Players who want dialogue-heavy storytelling may find the text-free presentation too sparse.
Our take on Blanc
The bounce point arrives when coordination becomes the main challenge: players who want to control a single character alone may not connect with directing the wolf cub and fawn as a pair through each obstacle.
What is Blanc?
Blanc follows a wolf cub and a fawn separated from their families during a snowstorm.
Players guide both animals through snowy landscapes, harsh weather, and environmental obstacles while following tracks left behind by their families. Each character has different abilities, so progress depends on coordinating their movement and actions. The game uses text-free storytelling and presents a black-and-white world based on hand-drawn 2D artwork brought into 3D. Two players control the animals locally on one screen or through online play. The controls use two buttons alongside movement, keeping the interaction focused on cooperation and navigation rather than complex input.
How Blanc plays
- 01Two-player cooperation
- One player controls the wolf cub and the other controls the fawn during local or online play.
- 02Different animal abilities
- The two characters have distinct strengths that must be combined to pass obstacles.
- 03Text-free storytelling
- The journey is communicated through the animals, environments, and movement without written dialogue.
- 04Hand-drawn visual style
- The monochrome 3D world originates from artwork drawn on paper in two dimensions.
