Our take on MicroSStep
The focus on stage progression and character strengthening leaves less room for a broader roster: Cross and Akaho are playable, while Shirona cannot currently be used. The game also gives space to character dialogue and defeat animations alongside combat.
What is MicroSStep?
MicroSSStep is a 2D action roguelite in which players advance through stages and fight demons.
Cross uses two swords with distinct abilities: one enables quick movement, and the other can shoot. Akaho moves through explosions and can use powerful skills while moving at high speed. Leveling up and clearing stages provide items and skills to combine as the character grows stronger. A boss lurks at the deepest level. Cutscenes with pixel-style characters and 3D backgrounds present dialogue between Cross and her companions. When a heroine’s health reaches zero, the game shows different defeat animations depending on the circumstances. Shirona is identified as a time-released character and is not currently playable.
