Our take on Micronomicon: Heroes
The equipment system trades accumulated upgrades for star-class progression: evolving an item raises its class but removes some of its improvements. That creates a choice between retaining existing enhancements and pursuing the next tier.
What is Micronomicon: Heroes?
Micronomicon: Heroes is a fantasy role-playing game that combines real-time world travel with turn-based battles on hexagonal maps.
Exploration includes moving through the world, interacting with non-player characters, and taking on quests. Combat lets characters move between grid spaces, attack, or cast spells; some battlefields require the party to break through fortifications before it can strike enemies. The game has four character classes: archer, witch, paladin, and warrior, each with different combat abilities.
More than 20 spells cover damage, control, healing, and buffs, with a six-move wait before a used spell can be cast again. Characters gain points to improve spells as they level up. Equipment can be strengthened by absorbing other items and later evolved using magical signs, trading some improvements for a higher star class.
