Our take on Micro Mages
The NES-focused format gives up the breadth of modern platformers in favor of fixed levels, classic presentation, and direct score competition. The result centers on replaying challenges and coordinating or competing during simultaneous play rather than on extensive progression systems.
What is Micro Mages?
Enter a demon fortress in Micro Mages, a platform game styled after 8-bit NES titles.
Solo adventurers and groups of one to four can climb its towers by firing weapons and jumping from walls, while confronting traps, creatures, hidden treasure, and bosses through 26 eerie stages. Multiplayer supports either teamwork or score competition. A defeated character returns as a ghost if another player is still active, allowing that player to immobilize enemies. Fairies and Feathers hidden in crates and chests revive fallen characters. Normal and hard difficulty settings, a password-based continuation system, and the Micro Mages: Second Quest ROM are included, along with an illustrated booklet modeled on old NES game manuals.
