Our take on METALLIC CHILD
Rather than limiting combat to attacks against enemies, the game makes opponents part of the moveset: they can block damage, be thrown into other targets, or be driven into walls. Boss victories also turn enemy abilities into tools for later fights.
What is METALLIC CHILD?
METALLIC CHILD is a rogue-lite action game set in the space laboratory Life Stream.
Rona, an android, must stop the robots aboard the station from crashing it into Earth. Combat combines hack-and-slash attacks with beat ’em up actions: enemies can be seized, used as shields, thrown into other enemies, or smashed against walls. Randomized item distribution shapes each run, while taking Cores from enemies provides a way to strengthen Rona. Bosses have distinct abilities, and defeating them lets Rona acquire and use those skills in later battles. Exploration includes interactions with NPCs, quests, and a story about the rebellion, with the player remotely operating Rona from Earth.
