We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Groups of friends who want party games with both local and online players
- Players who prefer short, shifting minigames over a single continuous mode
- Solo players who want to include AI bots in a party-game session
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players looking for a steady pace may find the frequent switches between minigames disruptive.
- Those seeking a single deep campaign may find the focus on party rounds and arena contests limiting.
- Players looking for a solo experience without bots may find the game’s emphasis on group play less suitable.
Our take on Marooners
The defining twist is that a match can switch between minigames unexpectedly, rather than keeping players in one game for the whole round.
What is Marooners?
Marooners is a party game built around switching between minigames, sometimes without warning.
Party Mode sends players after treasure, while Arena Mode sets up contests across 12 locations. A full-run option plays each minigame once to completion, and spectator mode lets players watch. The game supports 2–6 players in local and online combinations, with AI bots available for solo or multiplayer sessions. Players can unlock characters and choose from more than 70 weapons. When a player is eliminated, they can return as a ghost to haunt the others. Surprise stages and hidden game modes add changes to the match structure.
