Our take on Mantra
The high-tension horror premise receives more emphasis than the concrete play loop. Much of the described activity centers on finding and combining objects for rituals, while co-op mainly adds shared protection and healing.
What is Mantra?
Mantra is a psychological-horror game for single players or groups of 1-4.
Players must perform rituals to trap a demonic spirit in its grave and free a possessed soul. The game involves finding several objects and combining them to complete rituals, while producing items to protect health and psychological state. The number of graves available for rebirth is limited. In online co-op, teammates work together to protect their souls, bury the spirit, and help heal one another. A single-player mode presents the same central objective without co-op partners. The setting focuses on a dark grave, fear, tension, violence, and the threat of being imprisoned in hell.
How Mantra plays
- 01Ritual object combinations
- Players search for several objects and combine them to carry out rituals against the spirit.
- 02Online cooperative play
- Groups of 1-4 can work together to protect their souls and bury the evil spirit.
- 03Limited rebirth graves
- The number of graves reserved for returning after death is restricted.
