Is Malice & Greed worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Roguelike RPG fans who want a new party and build each run
- Turn-based strategy players who enjoy recruiting enemies and experimenting with skills
- Deckbuilder fans who want combat shaped by more than 500 skills and 80 relics
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a fixed party or a single long-term character build may bounce off the run-based team replacement.
- Players who prefer stable combat power may hit a wall when enemy strength rises alongside the player's abilities each turn.
- Players looking for real-time combat will not find that pacing here.
Our take on Malice & Greed
The bounce point arrives when party members become expendable resources. Recruiting the final defeated enemy, butchering allies for skills, selling them for relics, and sacrificing them against death all make roster attachment work against the game's systems.
What is Malice & Greed?
Malice & Greed is a roguelike, turn-based RPG where defeated enemies and bosses can join the party after combat.
Allies can be swapped during fights, fused together, sacrificed to defy death, or sold to the Shady Smuggler for relics and upgrades. Butchering enemies transfers their skills, while four skill colors support different builds. Each turn increases the strength of available abilities for both sides. Runs include over 500 skills and 80 relics, with more than 20 bosses and 70 enemies available for recruitment, each offering five versions. Resources can be spent between runs to unlock features and upgrades, while three demonic transformations can be unlocked and customized.

Malice & Greed compared to similar games
Shogun Showdown also combines turn-based combat with roguelike progression and deckbuilding, but it centers on positioning, attack tiles, and assembling a deck before the Shogun. Malice & Greed instead builds each run around recruiting enemies, transferring their skills, fusing allies, and trading party members for upgrades.
