Our take on Makai Agito
Rather than placing fantasy adventurers in a separate imagined realm, the game brings monster recruitment, fusion, and dungeon exploration into a modern town shaped by recurring folklore and mythology.
What is Makai Agito?
Makai Agito is a modern-day dungeon-crawling RPG set in the town of Mokumatsu, where a witch’s curse returns every 13 years.
Two journalists join local residents to confront supernatural entities drawn from folklore and mythology, seeking to end the recurring Witching Hour. Combat uses turn-based battles with separate front and back rows. Players recruit dozens of monsters by offering money and items, then fuse them and combine their skills. Monsters can also be equipped to characters, adding elemental affinities, abilities, and stat changes. Exploration takes place from a first-person perspective as the party investigates the cursed town and its dungeons.
