Our take on Maku
The movement-and-survival focus gives up broader adventure variety: progression revolves around combat runs, weapon combinations, permanent upgrades, and escalating challenges rather than narrative exploration or varied activities.
What is Maku?
Maku is a solo bullet hell survival game centered on movement, dodging, and firing weapons through swarms of monsters.
During each run, players collect weapons, upgrades, and coins while creating builds with different synergies. The goal is to defeat a world boss before time runs out. Coins unlock permanent upgrades for future runs, while bosses and challenges unlock characters and new worlds with increasing difficulty. Additional modes include Hardcore and Demon, plus Endless for extended survival and permanent-upgrade farming. Turbo shortens run times and tests reflexes. Players coordinate their position with weapon firing patterns while weaving through enemies and attempting to survive each encounter.
