Our take on Mahjick - The Realm Taker
The tile-based battle system gives up the immediacy of real-time action in favor of planning combinations across separate combat phases. Its progression also asks players to manage several overlapping systems, including Lucky tiles, attributes, talents, enchantments, and skills.
What is Mahjick - The Realm Taker?
A turn-based strategy game that combines roguelike progression with Mahjong-based combat.
During the player phase, tile combinations can trigger attacks or shields; during enemy turns, combinations support blocks and counters. Pair, straight, triplet, and kong patterns serve different battle actions. Ready hands allow a Ron Shot that breaks and stuns enemies while providing a temporary battle buff. Defeated enemies grant Lucky tiles, enchantments, and skills. Lucky tiles support standard Mahjong-style hands, including four sets of straights or triplets plus a pair, with successful Rons granting attributes and, at higher scores, talent skills. Tutorials introduce basic Mahjong rules for new players.
