Our take on Magic Tower
Rather than keeping tower defense as the sole activity, Magic Tower pairs it with an escape segment in which the player controls a monster. The current version defaults to skipping that segment, making the genre shift optional in practice.
What is Magic Tower?
Magic Tower combines tower defense with an escape mode across 32 rounds.
Each round includes both types of play, and completing them advances the game. In defense, towers attack monsters and draw energy from them; accumulated energy is used to build more towers. Tower types have different effects, while monsters have distinct attributes, so tower combinations matter.
The escape mode switches the player to controlling a monster, but the current version defaults to skipping it, and the game provides a way to skip it directly. Health resets after each defense round, and failure triggers an automatic save before the current round is reset for another attempt. Players can build or upgrade towers, or control a monster from a third-person viewpoint with movement and skill controls.
How Magic Tower plays
- 01Energy-funded towers
- Attacks draw energy from monsters, which can then be spent on additional towers.
- 02Two play modes
- Rounds pair tower defense with a monster escape segment, though escape is skipped by default in the current version.
- 03Round restart saves
- After a failure, the game saves automatically and resets the current round for another attempt.
