We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Fans of puzzle adventures who want a mystery centered on a house and a blackout
- Players interested in games presented through paper-and-cardboard physical sets
- Players who want to begin an ongoing story in its first installment
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a self-contained narrative may stop at the end of the first story installment.
- Players who want a game structured around something other than restoring power, solving puzzles, and investigating a blackout may find its scope narrow.
- Players looking for a finished multi-part story may not find the ongoing structure suitable.
Our take on Lume
The bounce point comes when players must engage with the paper puzzles at the grandfather’s house. Anyone expecting a completed story may also stop when the game ends as Part 1 of a larger, ongoing narrative.
What is Lume?
Lume is a puzzle adventure set within a world constructed from paper and cardboard.
After the protagonist’s grandfather’s home loses its electricity, he disappears. Players work through puzzles throughout the house, bring its power back, and investigate the larger mystery surrounding the outage. The game uses filmed, tangible sets to present its setting and begins a continuing story that will extend beyond this installment.
