Our take on Loco-Sort
Instead of using trains for transport or management simulation, the game turns rail-yard operations into compact ordering puzzles. Track switches, car numbers and time limits replace the usual focus on route building, logistics or open-ended network growth.
What is Loco-Sort?
Set in 1880s America, this puzzle game casts the player as a railroad yard engineer.
Each level requires controlling a small locomotive through interconnected tracks and switches, coupling numbered cars to a larger engine in ascending order. Additional tasks include moving cars to workshops and loading or unloading them at factories and mines. Objectives must be completed within a time limit ranging from a few minutes to 15 minutes, with a final-minute opportunity for extra time. The game includes 30 main levels and 3 tutorials across landscapes such as deserts, forests, swamps and mountains. Progression includes 9 locomotives, paint jobs, power and speed upgrades, interactive structures, special items, a turntable, lanterns and whistles.
