- Players looking for a short, single-route campaign may not want six towers, mask-based revisits, and an additional final level
Our take on Linked Mask
Its defining structure is a six-tower gauntlet where each deity mask adds a movement ability, then sends players back into earlier areas to find new routes.
What is Linked Mask?
Linked Mask is a highly challenging platformer focused on speed, precision, and repeated practice.
Playing as Viewer, players cross six towers containing increasingly difficult levels and a deity battle at each climax. Sliding builds momentum, while jumps require carefully timed landings. Defeating deities grants masks that provide movement abilities, allowing revisits to earlier towers, alternate routes, and faster runs. Completed zones are saved for later practice, and players can change towers without defeating a deity. Optional Kaizo Zones contain five coins per tower; collecting them opens gifts that upgrade the orb. After gathering all six masks, players face the People's Castle. The game uses handheld-inspired visuals, a limited palette, and music accompanying tower traversal and boss fights.
How Linked Mask plays
- 01Speed-based movement
- Sliding increases momentum, making jump timing and landing placement central to traversal.
- 02Six tower structure
- Each tower contains escalating stages and ends with a fight against a deity.
- 03Mask abilities
- The six deity masks each add a movement power that can reveal alternate paths.
- 04Zone practice saves
- Completed areas can be revisited for practice, and progress permits switching between towers.
- 05Optional Kaizo zones
- Five coins hidden in each tower's extra zone open an orb upgrade reward.
