Our take on Lilac 0
Its arcade structure concentrates the game on repeated combat runs and score improvement, but that focus leaves little room for exploration, story development, or broader progression systems.
What is Lilac 0?
Lilac 0 is a vertical shoot ’em up set on the machine world of Molybdion, where wars continue as Nidhogg consumes the planet’s root.
Players choose between two characters with different playstyles and fight through five increasingly complex stages filled with metallic enemies, bullets, and bosses. Three difficulty settings provide different challenge levels. Defeating enemies with overkill attacks increases the score, while local and online leaderboards track results. Tate display options support vertical monitors, and eight color schemes alter the presentation. The game uses pixel art with a CRT-inspired look and includes a chiptune metal soundtrack by Withered Media.
