We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Puzzle-adventure players who want an escape structure across five stages
- Players interested in psychological stories about memory and identity
- Horror-leaning strategy players who enjoy evasion alongside problem-solving
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking open-ended exploration may hit the wall of a five-stage, puzzle-led structure
- Players who want continuous combat may bounce off the emphasis on solving tests, finding items, and escaping attacks
- Players looking for a large-scale strategy campaign may find the memory-focused progression too narrow
Our take on LetMeOut
The bounce point arrives when progress depends on combining item searches, environmental mechanisms, and puzzle solving under threat from test subjects. Players who need combat or exploration to carry each stage may lose momentum once the game returns to its escape-room structure.
What is LetMeOut?
LetMeOut follows Bundy’s research into preserving memories and his attempt to treat his wife’s dementia.
Players enter five stages set within his memories, where they search for items, solve puzzles, handle mechanical challenges, track test subjects, and find routes through locked areas. Challenges include chess, hospital environments, and other prepared tests. Survival also requires escaping attacks from subjects and avoiding manifestations of the wife’s symptoms. The story explores electrical signals, artificial nerves, memory, identity, and the relationship between the body and the mind. Progress continues through layers of memories shared by Bundy and Julia, with the objective of recovering the player character’s mind and memories before reaching the final stage.
