Our take on LAPIN
The defining structure is a precision platformer where environmental exploration, rabbit relationships, and collectible records gradually fill in Liebe’s personal diary.
What is LAPIN?
LAPIN is a 2D precision platformer about five rabbits forced to leave their underground home during a park renovation.
Players guide Liebe through hazardous terrain, using precise movement and fast reactions to reach the end of each map. Exploration includes Alfa, the rabbits’ home, and other interactive areas. Conversations with Captain, Bianca, José, and Montblanc build likeability and can unlock photocards. Collectibles are recorded in Liebe’s Diary, including maps, rabbit information, photocards, seeds, and items. Seeds can be planted to grow flowers containing stories from Jorge’s Expedition, while statues preserve records from its leader. The rabbits’ actions gradually add detail to Liebe’s Diary and Notes.
How LAPIN plays
- 01Rabbit Relationships
- Conversations with fellow rabbits raise likeability and may reveal gifts or unlock photocards.
- 02Collectible Records
- Liebe’s Diary tracks maps, character information, photocards, seeds, and other gathered items.
- 03Story Flowers
- Found seeds can be planted into flowers that contain accounts connected to Jorge’s Expedition.
- 04Environmental Exploration
- Alfa and platforming areas contain objects to interact with, including statues displaying expedition records.
LAPIN compared to similar games
LAPIN centers on fast 2D precision platforming with rabbit relationships, collectible records, and story-bearing seeds. Jusant focuses on climbing a tall tower, managing stamina, and choosing routes through an action-puzzle structure. Sundered: Eldritch Edition is a chaotic metroidvania, with an action-exploration format distinct from LAPIN’s map-based platforming.
