Our take on Kubinashi Recollection
The bounce point arrives when head placement becomes central to both traversal and obstacle clearing. Players who want standard jumps or direct combat may stall at stages that require precise launches, platform use, and mechanism manipulation.
What is Kubinashi Recollection?
Kubinashi Recollection is a 2D action-puzzle game set in a world of dreams.
Players guide Sekibanki through stages filled with mechanisms while recovering her lost memories. Her head can grow, be thrown, or fly through the stage to reach distant objects and destroy obstacles. It can also serve as a stepping stone for jumping to higher places. After completing a world, players retrieve memory pieces connected to that stage and its characters. Nine Heads Mode provides nine usable heads in any stage, giving players who find the puzzle or action sections difficult another way to progress.
How Kubinashi Recollection plays
- 01Detachable head abilities
- Sekibanki can enlarge her head, throw it, or send it flying through a stage.
- 02Head-based traversal
- The head can act as a jump platform and reach elevated or distant areas.
- 03Mechanism-filled stages
- Progress involves using head-launching abilities to obtain objects and destroy obstacles.
- 04Nine Heads Mode
- This mode gives players nine usable heads throughout any stage.
- 05Memory-driven story
- Completing worlds reveals memory pieces connected to each stage and its characters.
Kubinashi Recollection compared to similar games
Jusant is also an action-puzzle game, but it focuses on climbing a tall tower, exploring routes, using climbing tools, and monitoring stamina. Kubinashi Recollection instead uses a detachable head to jump, reach objects, and destroy obstacles across dream-world stages.
