Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players looking for action or frequent interactive challenges may find the reading-focused format a mismatch.
- Readers who want every character route available at purchase may hit a wall at the route selection: Guillam’s route is not yet released.
- Players seeking a short story may find the stated 18–20 hours for the currently available content too long.
Our take on Kokorogawari
The clearest stopping point is the route selection: Guillam is not included in the current release, with that route planned for a later patch. Readers expecting all three love interests to have playable routes now will encounter that limit before completing the story.
What is Kokorogawari?
Kokorogawari is a visual novel about romance and personal conflict in present-day Japan.
It centers on university student Matsubayashi Asami, whose parents’ divorce has influenced her understanding of relationships, as she develops bonds with people from her university and workplace. Its themes include love, family, social expectations, and artistic expression. The available release contains the shared story, Shinichi’s path, Yuuya’s path, and a desktop wallpaper, with an estimated 18–20 hours of play. Guillam’s route is intended for a future update. Optional tools include relationship statistics, a Japanese word reference, and controls for rewinding, skipping, or jumping through text to revisit scenes and endings.
