We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Arcade fans who prefer short, timed sessions over long campaigns
- Roguelite players who want between-run unlocks rather than fixed abilities
- Players who enjoy choosing between distinct defenders instead of controlling a single character
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a long-form campaign may hit the wall at the 15-minute run structure.
- Those who prefer slow, methodical encounters may bounce off the rapid 60-second waves and large climber crowds.
- Players looking for a broad roster of playable characters may find the choice limited to the mountain and yeti.
Our take on Kill The Climbers
The bounce point arrives during the 60-second waves, when large groups of climbers with different strengths and weaknesses demand quick ability choices. Players who want time to study encounters or settle into a slow defensive rhythm may hit that pressure before the 15-minute run is complete.
What is Kill The Climbers?
Kill The Climbers is a retro roguelite arcade game about defending a mountain peak from invading climbers.
Players choose between the mountain and its yeti, with each defender using different attacks. The mountain can call down rockslides and wind, while the yeti throws snowballs. Runs consist of 60-second waves and last 15 minutes. Climbers appear in large numbers and come in types with different strengths and weaknesses. When the pressure rises, the Avalanche ability can clear the screen. Abilities, defenses, and power can improve through progression during play and unlocks that carry between sessions.
