Our take on JU
The simple premise and keyboard controls make JU sound lightweight, but the later stages add moving destinations, paired cubes, shifting areas, and blue-block requirements. The listing gives less emphasis to how much the rules change after the opening 20 levels.
What is JU?
JU is a puzzle game with 80 levels divided into four rule sets.
In levels 1–20, a green cube slides until it reaches a wall, with the red block as the destination. Levels 21–40 add a moving destination that changes when the cube moves. Levels 41–60 contain two green cubes and two destinations; cubes merge when they touch. In levels 61–80, green areas move one block, and every blue block must be visited once or the destination becomes blocked. Movement uses WASD or the arrow keys. The game’s name comes from a piece in Chinese chess, and the developer connects its rules with a simple maze map.
