Our take on iO
Instead of using platforming mainly for traversal, iO makes changes in size, speed, and weight the central puzzle language. Its structure also replaces a conventional finish-line focus with repeated attempts to improve completion times and medal results.
What is iO?
iO is a physics platformer centered on a controllable ball whose size changes its speed and weight.
These properties affect momentum and support puzzle solving across 225 levels, including the especially difficult Impossiball stages. Levels include mechanics such as reversed gravity, portals, tricycles, and movable objects. The goal is to reach each exit quickly and earn bronze, silver, or gold medals. Leaderboards record results for every level, allowing races against friends and other iO players. The game also supports dual-stick controllers.
How iO plays
- 01Size-based physics
- Changing the ball’s scale modifies its movement properties, including speed and weight.
- 02225 puzzle levels
- The level set includes extra-difficult Impossiball stages.
- 03Physics obstacles
- Stages use reversed gravity, portals, tricycles, and objects that can be moved.
- 04Medal scoring
- Fast level completions can earn bronze, silver, or gold awards.
- 05Level leaderboards
- Results can be compared with friends and other players for each level.
- 06Dual-stick support
- The game accepts dual-stick controllers.
