We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Players who enjoy atmospheric first-person exploration without a combat focus
- Photography fans who want to compose images inside strange environments
- Players drawn to late-1990s and early-2000s visual styles who prefer observation-centered gameplay
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking combat, character progression, or a broad action system may hit a wall because the core activity is exploration and photography.
- Players who need varied objectives across repeated sessions may find the ten-location structure and observation-focused play limited.
- Players looking for bright, conventional environments may bounce off the ominous spaces and unsettling soundscape.
Our take on Interior Worlds
The bounce point arrives when exploration gives way to camera framing: play centers on noticing anomalies, adjusting the lens, and making compositions. Players expecting combat, puzzles, or a large progression system may hit that wall quickly across the ten spaces.
What is Interior Worlds?
Interior Worlds is a first-person exploration game set across ten handcrafted spaces, including a roadside hotel, empty movie theater, and dying mall.
Players use a vintage analog SLR camera to photograph environmental anomalies while moving through strange, familiar, and ominous locations. Camera controls include zoom, lens focus, and dutch-angle tilting, allowing varied compositions. Spaces contain interactive objects such as vending machines, phones, sinks, televisions, and lights. Captured images are stored in an in-game catalog with timestamps and pre-applied visual layers. The environments use a late-1990s and early-2000s visual style, accompanied by low drones and stretched pads. The game focuses on observation, environmental interaction, photography, and an unsettling atmosphere rather than combat.
