- Players seeking a conventional minesweeper puzzle without card combat and character builds may prefer a narrower puzzle game.
Our take on Innkeeper's Basement
Rather than treating dungeon exploration as a sequence of conventional rooms, the game uses minesweeper-inspired movement alongside card-based combat. Its run structure also begins with a choice among character builds and dungeon goals, tying exploration to deck changes and escalating difficulty.
What is Innkeeper's Basement?
Innkeeper's Basement combines roguelike card play with minesweeper-inspired dungeon exploration.
Use cards to destroy enemies and interact with special objects while descending through increasingly difficult levels. Before a run, create a character from more than 5,100 combinations, each with a starting deck, stats, buffs, or debuffs, then choose one of 12 dungeons with different goals. During each run, new cards and items can modify the deck, stats, and buffs. The game includes unlocks such as 13+ dungeons, 16+ character races, 24+ character classes, and 10+ constellations, along with cards, enemies, and other elements. Mouse controls are supported, with WASD navigation and card hotkeys available.
