Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking combat or exploration may find the fruit-production and economic loop too narrow.
- Players who want uninterrupted permanent expansion may bounce off the prestige ritual, which sacrifices the colony for access to further technologies.
- Players who dislike repeated resource reinvestment may find the upgrade-focused progression unsuitable.
Our take on Idle Colony
The bounce point arrives at prestige: after building a large fruit economy and recruiting extensive automation, progress is deliberately sacrificed to access stronger technologies. Players attached to permanent expansion may stop when the reset becomes central to advancement.
What is Idle Colony?
Idle Colony is an incremental colony game focused on producing and merging fruit.
Two fruits of the same tier combine into a higher tier, increasing the money generated as larger fruits are created. The colony starts with manual watering and harvesting, then expands through buildings, recruited creatures, machines, fertilizing, chopping, and planting. Income can be spent on improvements across the economy. Progress provides technologies and special upgrades, with two unique currencies used for these choices. A prestige system lets the player sacrifice the colony to access powerful technologies and continue further in the next run. The game combines rising production values, colony automation, economic upgrades, and decisions about which technologies and special upgrades to select.
