Our take on HYPERBEAT
Players who need variety beyond rhythm charts may hit the wall after the handcrafted levels. Progression centers on cosmetic collecting and character conversations, so the experience may lose momentum for anyone uninterested in customization or social-link storytelling.
What is HYPERBEAT?
HYPERBEAT combines fast-paced rhythm play with a story set in the Wellspring, a quiet hub where an ensemble cast’s relationships develop through a social-link system and conversations at a bar.
Its campaign includes handcrafted charts across three difficulty levels, backed by an original soundtrack lasting over 90 minutes. Players can customize a knight with more than 100 collectible cosmetic items and alter the game’s color palette, including note colors. Controller, mouse, and tablet input are supported, along with accessibility settings. Solo and multiplayer play include public or private lobbies, session leaderboards, and spaces for comparing scores. A workshop system supports making, sharing, and downloading custom charts, including charts built around players’ own music.
