Our take on Hunt Down The Freeman
The focus on a scripted, cinematic campaign trades open-ended play for a directed story. Inventory management also adds a constraint to combat: ammunition shared across weapons can leave multiple guns unusable when one supply runs dry.
What is Hunt Down The Freeman?
Hunt Down The Freeman is a fan-made action game that follows H.
E. C. U. Sergeant Mitchell during an alien invasion. After waking in a hospital during the conflict, he must fight to survive across more than 40 levels. Combat combines firearms with tactical decisions and movement that includes climbing, crawling, and navigating around enemies. Players manage ammunition across an inventory of more than 26 weapons and gadgets; ammunition shared by weapons of the same type can run out for both. The story is presented through cinematic cutscenes, with more than 45 minutes of them, and an original soundtrack described as over an hour long. The game tells its story from the perspective of a villain hunting the hero.

- The campaign uses more than 45 minutes of cutscenes to present Mitchell's story.
