Our take on Honeymancer
The spell system depends on honey made from planted flowers, tying combat to garden management. That connection gives resource gathering a direct role in each defense, but leaves less room for combat independent of the garden.
What is Honeymancer?
In this RPG, a bear spellcaster defends a forest from attacking robots using magic fueled by honey.
Plant flowers for bees to gather nectar and make honey, then select from a range of blooms and grow the garden to increase the supply. Robot assaults arrive in waves, each harder than the one before, so casting spells uses a resource that must be managed. New spells can be learned and unlocked for combat. Forest animals offer individual quests; assisting them can yield spells, flowers, colors, and other items. Honeymancer brings together flower growing, beekeeping, wave-based battles, and quests with the forest’s animal residents.
How Honeymancer plays
- 01Flower-based honey
- Bees gather nectar from planted flowers, and a larger flower garden produces more honey for spells.
- 02Escalating robot waves
- Each incoming wave is tougher than the previous one, while spells consume the honey supply.
- 03Animal quests
- Helping forest neighbors with personal quests can unlock spells, flowers, colors, and other items.
