Our take on Home Defender
The nostalgic holiday framing gives the game a broad adventure pitch, but the core structure is a tightly timed defense challenge with inventory loss after failure. The listing also mentions planned free DLC, which is not part of the current feature set.
What is Home Defender?
Play as a nine-year-old boy left alone in a house on a winter night.
Two burglars are coming, and the objective is to protect the home before they reach you. Exploration covers the house, basement, attic, and backyard, where items, weapons, secret keys, side quests, and enemies can be found. Collected materials support traps and other contraptions, while a BB gun and limited ammunition provide additional defenses. The game gives 9 minutes before the burglars enter. Mistakes cost a life and reset collected inventory, requiring the run to begin again. Traps can be destroyed, so bullets, stones, and water must be preserved for later encounters. Defeating the burglars allows a call to the police.
