Our take on Him, the Smile & bloom
Its focus on four couples gives each relationship room to develop, but sacrifices the broader branching cast structure found in conventional otome games. The format also makes the experience primarily narrative-driven, with no stated emphasis on action or management mechanics.
What is Him, the Smile & bloom?
This mature otome adventure follows four couples whose relationships develop around a local flower shop.
Instead of controlling one protagonist among several potential partners, the game focuses on four established pairings involving Wataru, Ginnosuke, Hokuto, and Tenya. Each couple has three possible endings, covering different relationship outcomes rather than a simple good-versus-bad split. Completing a couple’s best ending opens an additional side story. The game combines character artwork, a detailed modern setting, and voiced performances with stories about attraction, commitment, conflict, and changing relationships. The Western edition includes a revised and re-edited script.
