ActionIs HEVN worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Science-fiction adventure fans who want exploration alongside combat and investigation
- Solo players who prefer narrative-driven mysteries in a first-person setting
- Players who want combat planning and environmental puzzles rather than straightforward action
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking fast, uninterrupted combat may find the stop-and-advance time mechanic slows encounters.
- Those looking for a purely combat-focused game may find the exploration, investigation and narrative elements take substantial space.
- Players who prefer lighthearted settings may not suit the hostile, desolate science-fiction setting.
Our take on HEVN
The game trades rapid action for deliberate encounters by making time control part of combat. Exploration, investigation and a mystery also share attention with fighting, so players seeking a narrowly focused shooter may find its pacing less direct.
What is HEVN?
HEVN is a first-person adventure set a century in the future on Naic, a desolate planetoid containing the crumbling Nomoni Mining Facility.
Sebastian Mar, the last crew member to awaken from deep-space hibernation, must survive the facility and find a way home with guidance from his colleague Edna. Exploration, investigation, combat and puzzle solving shape the journey. A time-control mechanic lets players stop combat and advance it in steps for attacks or maneuvers.
An implant identifies potentially useful objects and outlines Data Packet Terminals on a mini-map. Anti-gravity zones support puzzles, while Soviten Gems and Dossiers increase Resolve. Players also fight hostile lifeforms and hacked droids, use modules to inspect player statistics and nearby information, and travel with a droid companion.
