Our take on Hero Lodge
Rather than relying on long dialogue sequences, this RPG keeps its story minimal and puts tactical knowledge at the center of play. Its campaign structure also sits alongside a roguelite mode with procedural battles, instead of limiting the experience to a single fixed sequence of missions.
What is Hero Lodge?
This fantasy turn-based RPG centers on tactical battles and player knowledge.
After an accident, the protagonist arrives at a mysterious lodge and takes on missions to protect the land. The story spans 5 campaigns, each with an optional NG+ version featuring altered, more challenging enemies. Players build a party from up to 25 heroes, equip them with weapons and accessories, and raise their Strength, Agility, Faith, or Magic. Enemies use learnable behaviors, such as targeting the nearest hero or focusing on the character who dealt them the most damage. Optional crafting creates equipment. Blitz Mode adds roguelite runs with procedural battles and rewards, while player choices can affect later events and the ending.

Hero Lodge compared to similar games
Shogun Showdown also uses turn-based combat and roguelike progression, but focuses on positioning, attack tiles, combos, and building a deck before facing the Shogun. Hero Lodge instead centers on managing a party of heroes, equipment, and campaigns, with a separate mode for procedural battles. Back to the Dawn is an RPG focused on surviving and escaping a prison through fighting and investigation, rather than tactical party battles across fantasy campaigns.
