Is Hellcome worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Co-op groups who want shared zombie-survival runs
- Roguelite fans who enjoy experimenting with ability builds
- Bullet-hell players who prefer manual aiming
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a relaxed shooter may hit a wall when zombie hordes require manual aiming and quick reflexes.
- Solo players or groups wanting a story-led campaign may find the repeated survival-and-objective structure too narrow.
- Players looking for climbing, puzzle-solving, or exploration-focused gameplay will not find those systems at the center of the game.
Our take on Hellcome
The bounce point arrives when the combat starts filling the screen with enemies and there is no auto-aim to compensate. Players who prefer relaxed targeting may struggle at that moment, while groups expecting a campaign structure may also tire of repeated survival objectives.
What is Hellcome?
Hellcome is a cooperative multiplayer survival game for up to 4 players.
Groups battle zombies and other creatures, complete objectives, defeat bosses, and try to survive for as long as possible. Playable characters have distinct abilities, while a wide selection of abilities supports different build combinations. Combat requires aiming and reflexes because the game does not use auto-aim. The game combines roguelite progression with bullet hell shooting and party-game presentation. The vendor also states that additional characters and enemies are planned for release.
How Hellcome plays
- 01Four-player co-op
- Players can form a group of up to four to complete objectives, fight bosses, and survive together.
- 02Character abilities
- Different playable characters bring their own abilities to each run.
- 03Build combinations
- A broad ability selection supports experimenting with different combinations during play.
- 04Manual aiming
- Combat omits auto-aim, so attacks depend on player aim and reflexes.
Hellcome compared to similar games
Abyssus also combines cooperative multiplayer shooting with roguelite runs, but it uses hand-crafted levels, brine-powered weapons, and weapon refitting with ancient technologies. Hellcome instead centers on zombie hordes, character abilities, shared objectives, and boss fights. The other listed alternatives do not present the same cooperative roguelite shooting scope.
