Our take on Hell Deck
The game departs from standard defense formations by making allied units part of a predatory ecosystem. Sacrifice and consumption replace simple deployment as sources of growth, while limited placement space can create chain reactions beyond direct player control.
What is Hell Deck?
Hell Deck is a dark roguelike deckbuilder defense game set in an underworld invaded by holy angels.
Players command Hell’s denizens on a strictly limited tile grid, where placement can trigger chain reactions. Units hunt and consume one another, creating a cycle of predation and sacrifice that can produce biological mutations. The game involves collecting units, managing a hand and inventory bag, and developing synergies within a volatile ecosystem. Players must repel hundreds of oncoming enemies while adapting to the consequences of their placements. When a run ends, returning to the lobby unlocks permanent upgrades. The battlefield replaces static formations with an ecosystem in which unit interactions, limited space, and sacrifice shape each defense.

- 04Permanent upgrades
- Returning to the lobby unlocks upgrades after failures.
Hell Deck compared to similar games
Shogun Showdown centers on turn-based positioning, attack tiles, combos, skills, and deck construction before a confrontation with the Shogun. Hell Deck instead uses unit predation, sacrifice, mutation, and a restricted grid to defend against waves of angels.
