Our take on Hell Clock
Its defining structure is the timed descent: each run turns deeper exploration into a trade-off between pursuing stronger loot and surviving the undead forces waiting below.
What is Hell Clock?
Hell Clock combines roguelike dungeon runs with action-RPG combat in a dark fantasy interpretation of Brazil’s War of Canudos.
Players control Pajeú, a warrior seeking to rescue the soul of his fallen mentor, The Counselor. Each descent offers loot, Relics, Blessings, and abilities that can be combined into different builds. Combat includes knife attacks, a large bell, and a sidearm. Runs involve deciding how far to delve while facing undead enemies and historical figures transformed into nightmares.
The game includes a three-act campaign, an Ascension endgame, Hell Mode, Penances, Promises, and Constellations. Relics can be modified with Tools or Corrupted for a chance at either a blessing or a bane. Relaxed Mode removes time pressure, while Hardcore mode adds a more demanding option.
How Hell Clock plays
