Our take on Heathen Engineering's Terran
Terran combines empire planning, fleet direction, and direct ship piloting in one game. That broad structure requires attention to both long-term expansion and moment-to-moment combat, leaving less room for a narrowly focused shooter or a purely strategic experience.
What is Heathen Engineering's Terran?
Terran blends galactic administration, live tactical leadership, and third-person starship action.
Players create a government, company, or fleet and vie for command of resources throughout space. Its strategic map involves handling supplies, improving systems, constructing stations and fleets, researching technology, and expanding influence through Science, Economy, Industry, and Military strength. During engagements, players can issue orders from an RTS-like command interface, directing battlegroups and selecting targets, or personally fly individual warships.
One of three organization categories determines initial advantages and the starting point on the progression grid. A chosen Gar capital ship serves as the organization’s headquarters, offering five abilities with connected research, three of which are available at the beginning. The procedurally generated setting includes thousands of star systems and many tens of thousands of worlds.
