Our take on Heartreasure: Stellar Journey
The open-world framing may suggest broad space exploration, but progression depends on solving puzzles to reach planets by rocket. The core activity remains searching illustrated scenes for hearts and interacting with their mechanisms.
What is Heartreasure: Stellar Journey?
Heartreasure: Stellar Journey is a hidden-object adventure presented as a hand-drawn storybook cosmos.
Players click, drag, and scroll to activate devices, answer puzzles, and locate concealed hearts within each scene. Individual worlds feature interactive diversions, including chance-based machines, playable instruments, small challenges, and controls for turning planets. Completing the correct riddles unlocks rockets to new destinations, with additional areas appearing as the journey advances. Previously visited planets remain accessible, and exploration has no countdown.
Discovering a heart starts an animation and introduces a character. Ballpoint-pen artwork is paired with original piano compositions by Daisuke Shiiba, performed live and captured on reel-to-reel tape. The experience uses straightforward mouse input and a relaxed tempo, and is intended for both players familiar with games and those who are not.
