Our take on Haxor
Players looking for forgiving platforming may bounce off when the demanding action, deadly traps, and boss fights begin. Rocket jumping may create another sticking point for anyone who prefers straightforward movement instead of ability-based traversal.
What is Haxor?
This 2D action platformer follows Kla, the only member of a research mission to survive a black-hole encounter.
Her journey spans four distinct areas containing dangerous creatures, traps, concealed discoveries, collectible special objects, and confrontations with bosses. New powers emerge as she progresses, including the ability to propel herself with rockets. The game uses 16-by-16 pixel sprites, pixel-art scenery, animated foes and bosses, and moody eight-bit chiptune compositions. Along the way, Kla searches for answers about who she is while an old civilization struggles with a deadly shortage of energy. Its gameplay brings together platform traversal, exploration, challenging combat, collecting, movement based on acquired powers, and fights with oversized bosses.
